Lafayette Utility Construction Co., Inc. was started in 1967 by brothers Ronald Powell, Paul Powell and David Powell, Sr, with a single backhoe and a pickup truck. Gradually, they built the company into a diversified, multifaceted company. Today, the company consists of over 25 full-time employees.

Lafayette currently services southern New Jersey, including Monmouth, Ocean, Atlantic, Cumberland and Cape May counties. 

Today, Lafayette is owned and operated by David Powell, Sr. and David Powell, Jr., who serve as the President and Vice President, respectively.
